Genshin Impact 2.8 Banners

There is one new playable character making their debut in the 2.8 update: Shikanoin Heizou, who can be Wished for during both Phase 1 event Banners. The first of these is the Sparkling Steps Banner, featuring the 5-Star Klee. The second is the Leaves in the Wind Banner, featuring 5-Star Kaedehara Kazuha.

Phase 2 marks the end of these 2.8 Banners for a rerun of Tapestry of Golden Flames, featuring 5-Star character Yoimiya.

All the new and featured 5-Star Banner characters you can Wish on during the 2.8 update are:

  • Shikanoin Heizou (Sparkling Steps and Leaves in the Wind Banners - Phase 1): New 4-Star Anemo Catalyst character with useful AOE (area of effect) damage, grouping, and Elemental combos.
  • Klee (Sparkling Steps Banner - Phase 1): Returning 5-Star Pyro Catalyst character with a focus on causing elemental DPS (damage per second).
  • Kaedehara Kazuha (Leaves in the Wind Banner - Phase 1): Returning 5-Star Anemo sword-wielder best used in a Sub DPS Support role.
  • Yoimiya (Tapestry of Golden Flames - Phase 2): Returning 5-Star Pyro archer who is best used in a main DPS role due to her low Elemental Energy costs.

As well as a new free weapon, the Cursed Blade, obtainable by playing the new story content, the Epitome Invocation weapon Banner will get a usual refresh.

As Klee and Kazuha have Banner reruns during Phase 1, their signature weapons (Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds and Freedom Sworn, respectively) have boosted drop rates during Phase 1, ending 2nd August.

On 2nd August, the Epitome Invocation weapon Banner will then refresh again for Phase 2. It's not been announced yet what the 5-Star featured weapon will be, but as Yoimiya's Banner returns, her best weapon (Thundering Pulse) is then likely to be featured.

As a reminder, all Phase 1 Banners will run for three weeks until 2nd August, then change to the Phase 2 Banner for three weeks until it concludes on 23rd August in preparation for big 3.0 update and new Banners.

The first outfit classified as 5-Stars, Red Dead of the Night, will be permanently added to Genshin Impact 2.8 for the character Diluc. FAQs

Should I Wish on event banner or standard banner? ›

Is it better to wish for mona in standard banner or event banner? There's effectively no difference between standard and event banner if you haven't failed a 50/50 (because half of standard banner 5*s will be weapons).

7 Pity Does Not Carry Over Between Different Banner Types

There is a pattern in a standard banner that makes you get guarantee 4 star depends what you get. It might be not 100% but very very possible that this pattern almost always works. If you get 4 star character or a weapon, there is 50/50 to get random 4 star to the next drop.

What is the average 5 star pity in Genshin? ›

On average, players may need around 70 pulls to get a 5-star, but it can vary based on individual luck and circ*mstances. The pity system and concepts like soft pity can increase the chances of obtaining a 5-star in Genshin Impact whether its a character or weapon.

Does wishing on the standard banner ruin your pity? ›

Standard Wish pity

The Standard Wish banner has the same pity rates as the Character Event Wish banner, although you'll be able to receive both weapons and characters by hitting pity on your 90th wish. We recommend staying away from the Standard Wish banner because it's harder to get certain items on.

Why didn't I get a 5 star at 90 Wishes? ›

You can count how much pity you have if you check history and count from the last 5 star you pulled. Additional info: - Timed banner and permanent banners DO NOT SHARE pity. If you think you've done 90 pulls but no 5 star, please check your pull history then count it.

Does my pity reset if I lose 50/50? ›

If you lose the 50/50 on Eula, that means your next 5* on the character banner is 100%. If Klee is on the character banner when you get the 5* then it will be 100% Klee yes. Your pity stays on the same banner type (Character/Weapon/Standard).

What is the hardest pity in Genshin? ›

“Soft pity” is when you start hitting 70 to 80 pulls. The rate of getting a 5-star increases more and more as you reach 80, and is when you usually get a 5-star character. But if you're unlucky, you hit “hard pity”; which guarantees you a 5-star on your 90th pull.

How many Primogems for 90 Wishes? ›

Considering other sources like exploration and events, we can get at most 2500 per month. Now, we need 14400 primogems to get 90 wishes( including pity).

Can you get two weapons in a row on Standard Banner? ›

You can get weapons or characters back to back, but never 3 in a row. If you've pulled more characters than weapons then your next pull is more likely to be a weapon and vice versa. If you've pulled 2 characters in a row then the next is guaranteed to be a weapon and vice versa.
